Alex

No. S & M's work will be reviewed by Christidis and
Boles when the next official Australian bird list is
published (the last was in 1994). S & M's taxonomic
revisions represent proposals, similar to the
situation with albatrosses. Most of these proposed
changes will probably be accepted but there's a good
chance others will not pass muster. Taxonomy is always
a subject of debate in the scientific community.

At least that's my understanding of the situation. Is
there anyone who knows otherwise?
