Hi John and all

Bar-shouldered Doves have been seen in a number of locations in Sydney and
do range much further south than Sydney (I have seen several in Nowra about
150km south of Sydney). In Sydney I have seen/heard them in Botany Bay NP,
Mitchell Park (Cattai) and on the western edge of Sydney at Kurrajong Hills
(were they are resident in fair numbers). They have also turned up in many
other locations aswell within Sydney - Agnes Banks NR, Yurramundi,
LaPerouse, Ku-ringai Chase NP (where they are probably also resident).I
think some appear to be a bit nomadic and follow rivers/creeks etc and
therefore could turn up anywhere.

Anyway Thanks John. Great that you heard one in the Blacktown Shire as I am
interested in any bird records in my local shire. I would also be interested
if anyone has heard/seen Pheasant Coucals there aswell recently as the last
one I have heard from that area is in the early 90's and there is still
plenty of habitat for them there.

Edwin
