Hi everybody -

For your information, some details about the Birds Australia Congress and
Campout for 2000.  Please note that these events (which have been taking
place annually since 1901) are not just for BA members but are open and
welcome to anybody interested in attending.

CONGRESS

Theme: Vegetation Clearance, Habitat Fragmentation and Impacts on Birdlife.

Dates:
Saturday, 14 October, 0900-1700.
Sunday, 15 October, 0830-1600.

Venue: Lecture Theatre, Building 32, Central Queensland University, North
Rockhampton, Queensland.

Registration: $100 (includes lunch, morning and afternoon teas for both days.

CAMPOUT

Themes: Revisit and resurvey area of 1924 RAOU Campout.  Atlassing, guided
walks, evening spotlighting.  Full-day birding trips into the magnificent
semi-wilderness of Shoalwater Bay Military Training Area have been negotiated.

Venue: Ferns Hideaway Resort (cabins and camping sites), Waterpark Creek,
Byfield, Central Queensland (40 km north of Yeppoon - 30 mins by car).

Sunday, 15 October (pm) - Wednesday, 18 October.

All bookings for accommodation in Rockhampton and the Campout venue are the
