Dear Birders

Up until about 4.00 pm today, The Comb-crested Jacana was still at the
Kaurna (Salisbury North) Wetlands. It is favouring the area of short
sedge and floating algae, adjacent to the largest prominent wooden log
about 80 metres east of the Helps Rd embankment and 100 metres north of
Waterloo Corner Road.

The plumage of this bird seems to have brightened up over the past week,
as it is showing a wash of buff above the black breast band and also a
little more red on its comb. Also its upper parts appear a richer
brown than was apparent a week ago.

Then again perhaps my binoculars were better cleaned today.

Regards

Ian May
