Judy Peet <> mentioned the production of birding
leaflets in NSW.
The Birds Australia Western Australia group has organised the production of
30 or more such brochures covering many shires in Western Australia. This
has been due to the persistent efforts of Allan Jones in raising funds to
cover the production of these brochures (about $2,000 to $5,000 per
brochure). These brochures are available from the BAWA office in Perth,
and at the tourist information centres in the shires.
I very highly commend these brochures to anyone visiting WA. And I second
Judy's suggestion that similar brochures become available for a wider area
of Australia.
When I have time next year, I intend to negotiate with BAWA to make these
brochures available through my web pages so that they are more easily
accessible to birders visiting WA. Perhaps these new NSW brochures can be
made available somewhere on the web?
