 While I know absolutely nothing regarding GPS units, I thought I'd just
mention that the May 2000 issue of Choice Magazine (Australian Consumers'
Association) includes a 6 page test report on GPS units.

The units covered included Garmin, Lowrance, Magellan 315 & 300, & Apelco.
Prices between $299 and $499.00  It also has another story on
satellite-guided car navigation systems.

Their web site is www.choice.com.au but I'm not sure how much you can access
from it.  Do libraries have copies?   If anyone is real keen to see it I
could perhaps mail my copy out.
