Wing tear, pull or cut?

Couldn't really tell. I was mainly looking at the beautiful markings and
the soft edges of the feathers. But I guess it was as if they had just been
snipped off with a sharp beak, and the suggestions of nocturnal or diurnal
raptors, from Alan Morris, Peter Menkhorst and Philip Veerman, support this.
