RE: raptors

Those travelling regularly in the central west of NSW might have noticed the
increase in raptor numbers.  Those living in the central west will realise
that this is related to an increase in mice numbers.

The number of Kestrels and Black-shouldered Kites has definitely increased
as has, more recently, the number of Spotted Harriers. Given the good season
further west again it will be interesting to see what will happen when the
Letter-winged Kites breed up and move further east and south.
