If we were all vegetarian/vegan (yes I realise it's a HUGE ask!),
animals would benefit so much more. 'Stock grazing pressure', as
mentioned in Martin O'Brien's e-mail and the particular report therein,
is a major factor in the decline of our woodland birds. If we evolved
from meat-based diets, we wouldn't need to graze stock and bulldoze mass
areas of trees...the birds would have space to breath. Less habitat
loss, less tears, more beauty and life.
Think about it. I've been vegetarian for about five years and feel a
little better conscience wise, alhough I am not perfect. I still wear
and use animal products. One day I'll be perfect. Probably when I'm
dead. Then no animals will suffer!
