With great trepidation I shall try to generalise the 'fibres' of this thread.
The spread of the Privets and Camphor Laurel has been paralelled by an increase
in
spread and population of frugiverous birds especially currawongs and pigeons.
Frugiverous-birds and these plants are probably mutually beneficial.
Privet contains some chemicals which can be poisonous to humans and other
animals
but there is no evidence that frugiverous birds are sickened or sterilised by
eating Privet or Camphor Laurel fruit.
Insect eating birds are not well served by the spread of Privet and Camphor
Laurel.
Native plant communities are not well served by the spread of Privet and Camphor
Laurel.
Honey was the subject of one private reply. Privet flower honey tasted so bad
it
was ditched.
