Spent a few hours here (on the Yarra, near Heidelberg, Vic) Sunday morning. Had a brief look at a perched raptor - large, dark brown, longish tail. It had a distinct white/pale nape patch. I wonder if it was an immature Swamp Harrier, but I have never seen them here before. (I wasn't able to get a look at its rump). Anyone who knows the area have any ideas?
