Several years driving down to Brisbane from Mount Isa, for a change we
detoured at Mitchell and travelled via St George, Goondoowindi, Warwick.

What I remember clearly was the number of  "Happy Jacks" feeding along the
210 km of mainly Cypress Pine edged road between Mitchell & St George.
This road follows the Maranoa River

It seemed at no time (in the early morning) that we were not seeing them
