How about:
Blue-faced Honeyeater - Tax bird or Money-eater (we calculated that a 
nestling we raised peeped 3 million times in 3 weeks.  We named it after 
the then tax comissioner, Trevor I think his name was).

Tawny Frogmouth - Mantra bird or Hari Podargus (after its 'oom' call).

Pied Imperial-pigeon - Click pigeon (after a contact call)
