The Australian Bird Study Association will be holding a symposium based on
the theme The Role of Amateurs in Avian Research on 4 March 2000 (program at
the end of this e-mail).  The venue will be at CSIRO, Clunies Ross Street,
Prospect in western Sydney.  A registration fee of $20- covers morning tea,
afternoon tea and lunch.  An informal BBQ to be held after the meeting for a
cost of $5.

N.B. There will be no other food facilities near the venue. A large variety
of food is catered for on the day. 

Field trips to Scheyville and Castlereagh Nature Reserves will be conducted
on Sunday 5 March with opportunities for bird watching and assisting with
bird banding.

Travelling by train and/or bus.
Westbus 700 (to Parramatta) leaves Blacktown Station on Saturday at 8.50am
(arrives at cnr of Blacktown Road and the Great Western Highway at 9.05).
The next Blacktown leaves at 9.50 which arriving at 10.05 which is a little
late to walk down to the Division.

Westbus 700 (to Blacktown) leaves Parramatta Station at 8.30 am or 9.30am
arriving cnr Blacktown Road and the Great Western Highway(GWH) at 8.50 and
9.50.  From the bus stop cross the GWH via the lights and proceed down
Clunies Ross Street.  Allow a 10 minute walk down Clunies Ross Street to the
Division.

Travelling by car.
Proceeding along the GWH turn into Clunies Ross Street at the lights at the
junction of Blacktown Road and the GWH.  The Prospect Hotel is on one corner
of the intersection.

If travelling via the M4 in either direction, take the Blacktown exit onto
the Prospect Highway - turn into Stodart Road - left at Rowood Road -
right into Blacktown road - proceed into Clunies Ross Street.

If travelling by the M2 proceed along Seven Hills Road - Ellam Drive -
Blacktown Road - Clunies Ross Street.
