We are making preparations for a trip to Costa Rica. Some of the group members may be able to assist with advice. We have had quite a few birding holidays overseas, and usually make our own arrangements regarding travel, accommodation and so on. Since neither of us speak Spanish, and we are also unsure of safety aspects in Central America (although we understand that Costa Rica is as safe as there is in that region), we are considering using a tour company instead this time. Does anyone have any advice about the pros and cons of private travel in Costa Rica, particularly with regard to making arrangements in English? Or any other suggestions regarding wildlife visits?
