It must be hanging out around there! I saw a single Square-tailed Kite on
20 December 1999 at Malua Bay, circling/quartering the treetops around the
Malua Bay water tank and Bush Fire Brigade station. (Malua Bay would
probably be something less than 10 km north of Broulee? I'll have to check
HANZAB tonight to see what their territorial range is!) Two or three times
I saw it drop into the canopy but it didn't obviously catch anything. It
was also my first for NSW, and the first I can be really sure of (although
I'm 95% convinced - especially after the Malua Bay one - that I saw a
couple in SW West Australia in Oct 1997, and one near Bundaberg in Qld in
July 1998)
