Hey all, has anyone ever seen rainbow lorikeets harassing domestic pigeons before? During a walk along the River Torrens, my partner and I observed two rainbow lorikeets chasing a single domestic pigeon. This continued for several minutes, until the harassed pigeon finally flew to a tree, at which point the lorikeets flew away. This was no mere coincidence, the pigeon was definitely being chased! Is this unusual, or am I observing for the first time (for me) something which occurs frequently? I'd be keen to know if anyone has observed this before. -- Ms Karina J Mercer 4 Shirley Avenue Felixstow 5070 Phone: 08 8365 3020 To unsubscribe from this list, please send a message to Include ONLY "unsubscribe birding-aus" in the message body (without the quotes) |
