I've also seen 3 different Aust.Bitterns in flight over this lagoon, plus 2
pairs of Swamp Harriers, one of which appeared to be nesting in the reeds
as it took off from one spot, and returned to it, disturbing another
harrier. It's a good spot to stop before you do the final leg to Canberra
from Sydney as has toilet and seats and is seldom very busy.
Happy Christmas to all birding-aussers and a great new year - wait for
next Dec 31s for the Millennium!
