Gooday all,My 1999 birding highlight occured on Australia Day at the nest of a Buff-breasted Paradise Kingfisher just North of Mackay Queensland. My Mother had just returned to Australia after 20+ years in the UK where she was very restricted in her birding activities due to the constant care she provided my Grand-parents. We sat at that nest for a good 90 mins., she was thrilled by what she observed. It was a great welcome back for Mum, the person who introduced me to the splendours of our avian co-inhabitants.
