My highlight of 99 occurred while leaving Mindo,Ecuador at first light.
Within two minutes, we had perched Andean Potoo ( a very rare critter
indeed, but check Birds of the High Andes on its occurrence in the Mindo
area) and a Swallow-tailed Nightjar!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and Good birding for 2000 to all.
Included among my hoped-for's:
White-tailed Eagle in Poland, and Storm's Stork in north Borneo.
Cheers
