Ann, Tony and all
It is interesting to see the discussion on fundraising and the
twitcherton . I have never entered a twitcherthon before, although it
sounds like a lot of fun ,I would happily join in a team next time . Asking
people for money or for that matter any thing does not come easy to some
people .I like to think of it this way , most people actually love
contributing to worthwhile causes ,best of all you are offering them a way
to contribute , like some have suggested they would spend the money any way
on some thing .The other issue which many people fear is the "knock back"
I guess this takes some getting used to as well and its just a case of
presenting the best case or argument or even product if your selling
something , at the end of the day people cant contribute to every thing
but if there not asked They never can. Another Issue is expecting an out
come such as someone wont have money or someone cant afford to spend
money this will often stop me asking for something , the person who
doesn't get asked doesn't get to contribute it only means as others have
pointed out less funds for birds or what ever worth while cause being
supported I hope my short thoughts help
have a great week
Ian
