During a mouse plague in the Wimmera (western Victoria) I was atlassing at
Lake Wooroonook (the first Atlas, circa 1979), and we encountered
congregations of dozens of Barn Owls in woodland around the lake. I can't
recall exact numbers, but my recollection is of 50-100 birds at a time.
