Gidday All,
This afternoon I was birding on one of my usual beats,
along the fence of the Botanical Gardens between the gardens and CSIRO, and
I saw what I think must have been a Dollarbird (which would be a new bird
for me) but checking Pizzey and Knight, the bird I saw seemed greener than
their illustration and the bill was a very bright orange-red; again lighter
and brighter than the illustration. I do not see how it could be anything
else (especially as I saw a white wingspot as it flew off) but I thought I
would take advantage of the expertese of the list. A nice bird in anycase,
and I also saw a brown goshawk on the same track past the electricity
substation, so a very pleasant couple of hours.
