I have found Crested Shrike-tits to be resident in various places (from rainforest to tree planatations) and I can name many areas in Sydney where to find them regularly (on 80 % of the visits there).Once its call is learn't (as with many other birds), they are more common then initially suspected. They are also one of the most easiest birds to immitate and call in. I will be leading a Dawn Chorus outing for the CBOC this Sunday at Mitchell Park at the very early time of "4 am", and Crested Shrike-tits should be one of the birds ticked off during the dawn chorus.
