Hi, Birding-aus people On the week-end Allan and I went to Sydney for another pelagic trip. We have been very fortunate with our selection of trips to go on but this one was a little quieter than our previous experiences - there were very few calls of ''stop the boat!!'' but we did see some wonderful dolphins and sperm whales at very close range. Definitely, the highlight of our week-end was a family of Powerful Owls at Lane Cove National Park, Epping North. It took us only a short time to locate the birds, 2 adults and 2 beautiful fluffy juveniles. The juveniles were the inquisitive ones and peered down at us from there lofty perch. How wonderful, and we had the telescope with us so had very good views of three of them. One adult was obliterated by leaves. A great end to an interesting 3 days in the city.
