Hi birders, A pleasant day picnicking with non-birding friends from New Zealand at the picnic area below the weir at Audley where few people go. During the course of the day, Sacred and Azure Kingfishers flashed past, Fantail, Horfields and Shining bronze-cuckoos called, Sulphur crested and Crimson Rosellas were in and out of tree hollows, Restless Flycatchers and Rufous Whistlers called, a White-faced Heron flew past and fished jumped in the river. Nothing remarkable but very pleasant. And Darlington's first Koel called after dark on Friday 8 October. Penny Drake-Brockman, Examination Recitals Co-ordinator, Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
