On the thread of cuckoos, I have seen more Horsfields Bronze Cuckoos this spring through central and west central Victoria than I have in any spring for years! They seem to be everywhere. Another local from Maldon (30km SW of Bendigo) agrees. He had Horsfields, Black-eared, Fan-tailed and Pallid all calling at once!
