I know the media tried to beat up the scale of the oil spill by giving its size in litres but I didn't come across any reference to 80,000 MILLION litres, which would have sunk a whole fleet of oil tankers. I believe the actual figure was 80,000 litres or, at a guess, 100 tons. Not at all large when compared with the Torrey Canyon and Exxon Valdez at about 100,000 tons and 200,000+ tons. Yup, I've forgotten how to spell their names. This is not to trivialise the incident but to remind people about the scale of the threat.
