I wonder why people think email messages are more likely to be misunderstood than VERY old-fashioned letters? I suspect its because email is so quick that we rattle off a message without always giving it as much thought as we would a hand-written letter. A bit of proof-reading and self-editing should make it no more misleading than a letter. We can always use "smiley's" etc and probably should always give the other person the benefit of the doubt if something doesn't read too well. Most people are not too easily offended, I hope. After all, we're all human (I think!)
