I recently raised the issue of Kelp Gulls and their possible increase in numbers. Mike Carter was at Rosebud today(Port Phillip Bay,Vic)and he saw 24 Kelp Gulls! I carried out a Kelp Gull count on the ocean beaches last week(from Rye to Gunnamatta) for Peter Dann on Phillip Island and didn't see one. I now know where they all were! Mike also saw Yellow Nosed and Shy Albatross off Cape Schanck, plus Fluttering Shearwater.
