Hello all -
Just a few interesting records from a recent trip that visited Mootwingee
NP, Sturt NP, Innamincka, Lyndhurst and Gluepot:

Grey Falcon - seen at 3 locations
At least 2 birds at Mootwingee - near the campground (2 on one occasion, 1
on another)
3 birds between the Warri Gate and Santos Station in Queensland
1 bird at Burke's Grave site on the Cooper Creek near Innaminka

Grey Grasswren
Only very low numbers at the Pyampa Station site north of the Wompah Gate -
but good views obtained of one bird. A Freckled Duck was on the dam near the
site.

Cooper Creek Flycatcher
A somewhat sick-looking bird missing its tail - which was either a
female-plumaged Satin or Leaden Flycatcher. A very odd sighting in this
location near Burke's Grave on Cooper Creek.

Banded Whiteface
2 birds near the satellite station on the Strzelecki Track east of Moomba.
This location seemed to have had better rains than most places along the track.

House Sparrow
1 bird at the Strzelecki Crossing on the Strzelecki Track!

Blue-winged Parrot
4 birds at Monte Collina Bore on the Strzelecki Track

Thick-billed Grasswren
Groups of 5, 2 and 1 bird at the site 27km north of Lyndhurst

Chestnut-breasted Whiteface
Groups of 8, 6, 4 and 2 birds seen over a 5 hour period by a group of 18
searchers at the site 27km north of Lyndhurst. Although seen at different
locations some of these birds could have been double-counted.

Inland Dotterel
A group of about 6 birds near the Innamincka Airstrip (north of Cooper Creek)

Black Falcon
1 bird at Innamincka Homestead

Black-breasted Buzzard
1 bird near Orientos Station - at 27degrees41' and 141degrees11'

At Gluepot we had good views of Chestnut Quail-thrush, Striated Grasswren
and White-browed Treecreeper,
but did not find a convincing Black-eared Miner that stopped still enough
for a good look! Also missed the Red-lored Whistler and Southern Scrub-robin
- but most enjoyable nonetheless.

I can give further details to those who would like to get in touch with me
personally.

Richard
