Just finished a quick tick trip before Easter and just into the school
holidays looking for
SIPO - found OK about 2 KM north of Patches Beach entrance to the beach.

Mangrove Honeyeater - could not find them at Wynum/Manley but they were
at the mangrove viewing park at Poert of Brisbane plus Tin Can Bay.
Black-breasted Button-quail - the Thomas site at Yarraman Stae forrest
had plenty of platelets and only saw 1 bird after 15 hours but saw 4
birds east of stop 2 on the Yarraman Forrest Drive and every patch of
rain forest edge had platelets. If each bird makes 1 platelet every 2
minutes the party of 4 would make over 1000 per day and as they last
thats over 7000 per week. No wonder there are platelets every where.
Paradise Riflebird - at Yarraman, Mt Warning and Wian Wian State
Forrest.
Alberts Lyrebird - dipped. Spent 15 hours at Wian Wian, 10 at Mt
Warning, 6 at Mt Tambourine but could not get to O'Riely's as the school
hols had it booked out for 2 weeks. Does any one know a good site ??
Grass Owl - at Thomas' Cooloola (Great Sandy) NP. Long shot but no luck
but did hear White-throated Nightjar but could not see them or call them
in as too windy.
Cheers Chris
