Hi everybody, After the fall of crakes and rails at Maroubra, Sydney, over the Easter weekend, David Mitford and I thought we'd see what was about at the more rallidae-likely spot of Eastlakes golf course, which has extensive wetlands, and which is a few kilometers west of Maroubra. We covered just some of the wetlands, and located six Spotless Crakes, four of which we enticed out with a tape, two giving crippling views. There were also calls in two places of what must have been Australian Crakes from the field guide/HANZAB descriptions (didn't have a tape for that species). Baillon's may well also be there, which would complete the set for Sydney :).
