birding-aus Michael, There used to be an active Spotted Bowerbird's bower at the old hall at Inverrai about 12 km west of Jandowae on the Darling Downs during the 1960s and early 70s. (I think th hall was demolished some time ago). It was the only record I had of a bower for the northern Darling Downs during 12 years residence. Spotted Bowerbirds were very rare in the area even as far west as Chinchilla.
