I'm with Trevor. I don't mind reasonable advertising of relevant birdy
things on Birding-aus. I would be happy to see Richard's, Chris Doughty's,
Klaus's, Phil Maher's, etc etc calendar once a year. I don't object to
HANZAB vols being announced.
I certainly want pelagic trips, opportunities for volunteer work, Regent
Honeyeater surveys etc to be announced. This is all part of birding news.
As some other correspondent whose name I deleted too fast pointed out, if
anyone overdoes it, they will hear about it soon enough. (It might be me.
Tell me if I do it!)
Following on from Trevor's other point, it is probably unreaonable to
expect the tour operators to write up their trips as they are busy, but
participants returning home all excited about what they saw can do it. (And
as editor of Australian Birding Magazine I am happy to publish accounts of
birding trips in Aust and the region)(is this advertising?)
