Re: advertising on birding-aus

I'm in agreement with Richard Jordan on the advertising question and if
there is not already a rule on professional organisations advertising on
bird-aus,than there should be. It is not difficult to see the distinction
between professional birding services, such as O'Reilly's, Australian
Ornithological Services, Emu Tours, etc., and non profit-making pelagic
trips, bird counts, twitchathons, etc. Birding-aus is an appropriate forum
for selling your old scope or bird books, or to pass comment or review
birding equipment or books, but not if you are York Optics or Andrew Isles.

I'm sure there was a collective "excuse me!!" from tour operators and other
guest-houses which subscribe to birding-aus at Peter O'Reilly's clayton's
advertisement.

What is the ruling on advertising?
