Years ago I saw several on Mt Elizabeth Station, off the Gibb River Rd. The owner/manager of the station apparently will take people to a site for them, though friends and I just made our own way round the property, finding them for ourselves in an area a lot closer to the homestead. We had one fruitless day searching in excellent-looking habitat, then the following day we found them in crappy, burnt-out stuff (typical grasswren tactics in my experience). Like some of the other grasswrens, it seems that if you luck onto the right site then finding/viewing them is very easy. They were very active, calling from in the open, and had a great deal of appeal (not sure if anything sexual). Niven ************ Niven McCrie http://www.taunet.net.au/niven/ P.O.
