At Mason Park, near the Olympic site just west of the city of Sydney, we found some waders at last. Not many have come back yet, or maybe they have and have gone elsewhere. We saw 2 Asian Golden Plovers, 18 Curlew Sandpipers, & 4 Sharp-tailed Sandpipers. A Red-kneed Dotterel chick just a few days old made an interesting site. Best bird was a Dollarbird being chased across the wetland by an Australian Raven. On Saturday the Black Bittern was seen by Chris Gladwin and me at Mitchell Park.
