Woody Kuehn reported to birding-aus that he failed in April 98 to find
any chestnut-breasted whitefaces around 27 km north of Lyndhurst (the
site indicated on p169 of Thomas & Thomas).

I have visited this site on four separate occasions over the last 12
months and have failed to find any whitefaces although I did find
thick-billed grasswrens and rufous fieldwrens as did Woody.

On my last visit two weeks ago I did hear chestnut-breasted whitefaces
calling but it turned out to be a South African tourist playing a tape
recorder! He did not see any real whitefaces either.

The last sighting of chestnut-breasted whitefaces at this location I
know of was about 18 months ago. Thus, it would be informative to know
of any recent sightings.
