After Tom Tarrant's report on Sunday 21, I tried to get to Southbank on Monday afternoon. There was a major crash on the Pacific Highway and I did not make Brisbane until after dark! Monday night there was a south west change with strong winds. I tried again on Tuesday 23, arriving at 3.15pm.and stayed until dusk. There were lots of Silver gulls but no Franklin's. I met Paul Walbridge who was feeding the gull until 3pm on Monday at the children's wading pool at Southbank, He had some great photos taken at close range. There were no sightings at all on Tuesday. Has anyone seen the bird since? I would like to have a 3rd try if he/she is seen again. Darrell Dr Darrell Price Gold Coast, Qld Tel. 07 5532 7755 Fax 07 5532 9413 < > |
