This morning (Sat, May 16) we visited the area of flowering ironbarks near Castlereagh NR where Edwin Vella had such good luck with swift parrots and honeyeaters last weekend. Unfortunately while there were lots of nosiy friarbirds, there were mostly only yellow faced HE and one pair of Eastern roseelas. Not a parrot or lorikeet to be seen. Still lots of flowers. Has anybody seen any swift parrots near Sydney this week? There was one report at the zoo - has anyone checked that out? These would be a great lifer for both my wife and I. Bob Handfield |
