Field guide popularity survey

Thanks to all those of you who responded to my field guide survey.  I
received 68 responses in all, and if we have about 500 subscribers on
the list, that's roughly a 13% sample.

The very short answer is as follows:

*       Slater, Slater & Slater 36.7%
*       Pizzey & Knight         36.7%
*       Simpson & Day           20.6%
*       Pizzey & Doyle          5.9%

That equal first placing surprised me slightly!  The full gory story is
still in the writing up stage, and I'll let you know when it's finished
and available.
