Yet another disaster. The tree-clearing guidelines in QLD are the worst
ecological disaster in the state at present and generally recognised by the
States' conservation movement as the biggest (and toughest) issue on a
jam-packed card.  In Qld, not only are the guidelines poor &^
disgusting) for leasehold, but they do not apply at all to freehold. The
scary thing is that the Qld cabinet appears to be developing legislation
for fast-tracking the process of conversion leasehold to freehold (using
the Wik debate as a sheild). I hope this is not happening in NSW, or we can
kiss biodiversity good bye.
