A word of warning. Don't let your new Pizzey and Knight get wet! I know of two copies that have been ruined by getting slightly damp. The pages stick together as if glued. Has anyone else come across this problem? .........and a best 8 list seen while walking the dog in the morning 1. Little Kingfisher - a long held fantasy fulfilled last year when one showed up along the creek at the end of the street 2. Brolgas - dancing on the wetland 3. Red-tailed Black Cockatoos - flapping leisurely overhead calling raucously 4. Great Bowerbirds - 5 bowers within walking distance of home 5. Red-backed Fairy-wrens - brilliant dots of scarlet perched in the greenery 6. Royal Spoonbills - with nuptial plumes, feeding in wetland with egrets and ibis 7. Peaceful Doves - constant calling - the sound of the tropics 8. Striped Honeyeater - most out-of-range bird - only seen once. Jo Wieneke |
