Here's our two bobs worth, our best 8 backyard
birds
1. Southern Cassowary - 11 years ago when we
first moved in and had no garden - alas they are extinct in our area
now.
2 Red-necked Crake - Heard frequently
but only seen twice in 11 years.
3. Bush-hen - Heard frequently seen more
often, once walking over our shed!
4. Rufous Owl - Heard at 0230 calling
outside bedroom window - not seen
5. Lesser Frigatebird - Blown over by a
cyclone (real birds perch in trees)!
6. Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfisher - Flew
into patio door, recovered and flew off, heard each year.
7. Lovely Fairy-wren - Visits the bird bath
regularly, they are lovely.
8. Double-eyed Fig-Parrot - Fly over nearly
every evening and even perch on our TV aerial.
