I think you would find little argument with your comments on problems
caused by feeding birds, and you only mentioned some of the problems.

The challenge is to change the culture of bird feeding, which is a big
industry - every pet shop and many nurseries and supermarkets sell seed
bells, packets of wild bird seed, etc.

Perhaps well-written articles in gardening magazines and other media would
be a good start.
