Alexandra: Thanks for your reply concerning nightjar behaviour. I am unaware of any such displays in North American species - neither can I find any references, examples, etc. in my library. If I do in the future I'll keep you informed. It is nice to know that other birders are interested in watching and interpreting the behaviour of birds. I am seriously thinking of purchasing a hand-held video camera to record beehaviours I see in the field. Cheers, Jim |
