Dear All

As there has been alot of raptors lately at the Hawkesbury Turf Farms and
seing a dead Barn Owl a week ago, I decided to go out a hour just after
dusk (between 6 to 7 pm) to see if any Owls were about. Saw 3 Barn Owl's.
One sailing like a Harrier over the weed growth beside Cornwallis Rd,
Windsor but appeared quite shy as it tried to perch on the telegraph
pole. Another Pair was seen along Cuppits lane (where all the Quail are)
with one bird being quite aggressive as it dive bombed at me from behind
unexpected and front on (like a Magpie) with its mate watching from the
telegraph wire (this bird looked quite smaller - possibly the male).
(Bird watchers Beware!!!). I suspect they are breeding but with no large
trees about they may be nesting in one of the low shrubs about (from what
I've read when there are no sitable tree hollows about).

Heard a Pallid Cuckoo yesterday in the Blacktown area and possibly a
female Koel this morning at home (which are ussually present around my
area, along with Channel - billed Cuckoo's about late Sptember or early
October).

Cheers!

Edwin
