1. I am going to HK for three of four days in September, does anyone have any good tips about where to go birding. I went to Mai Po some years ago and got rather ripped off by JetTours who took me there in a taxi, and found the travel assistant was the only one with a police permit so we were unable to wander around. So again my question is: what is the quick simple easy way to do Mai Po without hassle. Any other good spots? 2. Why does the black butcherbird have such a small distribution in Australia? I saw it with ease in Kuranda State Forest but no where else. 3. I also saw Bush Thickknee at Yorkie's Nob, near Cairns, which was running around at night under the spot lights on the beach. It was very visible and didn't seem to mind the humans. Kieran Daly |
