A couple of years ago I watched a Magpie kill and eat a fledgeling House Sparrow (hurrah!). I didn't see the initial attack but watched the Maggie pursue the spoggie from bush to ground where it killed it. It ate it by pecking into the back of the neck first. Magpie 1: Sparrow 0!
